STEVE ZHAO

Steve is a project manager, an engineer and a scholar. Steve’s career into engineering and development began 19 years ago. During his doctorate study at University of Alabama, Steve has gained his fame in the field of structural rehabilitation using novel technologies.

After graduating from engineering school with honors, Steve worked as a structural engineer for a state-owned engineering firm in Beijing, China. The firm has a nationwide client base across China. There, Steve had the opportunity to conduct the structural design and inspection on over 20 projects from inception to completion. These projects encompassed many types of real estate development, including office, hotel, residence, restaurant, and retail etc.

Subsequently, Steve left the engineering firm to enter project management, where he concentrated on the project management of several medium to large size hotel developments. Steve has handled the development of Sheraton Hotel and Four Points Hotel and has resolved issues in many aspects of hotel development. Steve also successfully managed a single-family residential project patented for its integrated hydraulic and electrical system that drives the bedroom to travel between floor levels.

In the following years, Steve’s knowledge and expertise directly fostered the business and project operation of a start-up Texas land developer and home builder capitalized by foreigner investments. Steve individually managed 4 residential land development projects and oversaw 10 home building projects in Houston & Dallas area, the scale of which is well over 1000 lots and 2000 single-family houses and townhomes.

Steve published academic articles in the journals of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) involving various aspects of structural engineering & engineering materials. His many publications have been cited for 500+ times worldwide as of today. Steve is also a former research scholar of Texas A&M University.

Steve is a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Steve is also a licensed structural engineer in China.
